Mid-America Regional Test and Seminar

Join us for a weekend of testing, training and togetherness, with visiting instructors  and special guests from across the U.S. on this very special occasion of the

40th Anniversary of Northern Lights Dojo!

Northern Lights dojo opened in October 1983. We cordially invite the entire Cuong Nhu community to visit the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan and help us celebrate this milestone. We'll be enjoying great memories and building a great future - and we want you all to be a part of it!

Test candidates, seminar-only attendees, and spectators are welcome.

      Here are a few of the planned activities:

      Thursday Oct. 19: Early arrivals are welcome in our regular classes, Kids at 6pm and Adults at 7pm EST.

      Friday Oct. 20: Sight-seeing and free time to explore Marquette.

      • 2pm (weather permitting) hike to the top of  Sugarloaf Mountain overlooking Marquette.
      • 6-9pm at Northern Lights dojo - open workout, test prep and social time.

      Saturday Oct. 21:

      • 8am doors open; 9am Bow-In for Testing.
      • 12:30pm Promotions
      • 1pm Lunch Break (food provided)
      • 2 to 4:30pm Seminars
      • 6pm Potluck dinner and Northern Lights 40th Anniversary Party.

      If you'll be testing for rank, make sure you have all the following items ready to upload before registering:

      • A Test Form for your rank level, filled out with your personal information (available HERE on our Resource pages)
      • A copy of your written essay (if required)
      If testing for Black Belt or Dan Rank, you will also need to register as a candidate HERE.

      If you're registering for the seminar only - no special paperwork required! Sign up, and we look forward to seeing you there.

      • Kyu Rank test fee: $20 (check or cash), paid to host dojo
      • Seminar fee: $15 (check or cash), paid to host dojo

      Your CNMAA membership must be up to date for you to register for testing. If you can't access the options on the registration form, make sure you are logged in with the email and password connected to your CNMAA account. If you still can't access the registration options, confirm whether your membership is up to date, and renew if necessary.
