Traveling to NC State
Shuttle service from Carolina Livery will run continuously from RDU Airport between 2:00 p.m. and midnight on Thursday. If you come in before or after these times, you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to University Towers near the NC State campus. If you come out of Terminal 1, cross the street to the island. The Carolina Livery Shuttle will be by to pick you up at Zone 1 / Prearranged Services. It's a purple sign. If you come out of Terminal 2, cross the street to the island. The Carolina Livery shuttle will be by to pick you up at Zone 8 / Prearranged Services. It's a purple sign. RDU Airport is not very big, so there is little chance of you getting
lost. You will easily see the Carolina Livery bus as it arrives.
Stay in the general area of your respective zone and you will see others
waiting — or if you’re the first, others will arrive soon after. Relax
and wait. The bus will run as often as it can from 2pm to midnight and
will probably get delayed and run slower when rush hour begins. If you call
us to see what’s going on, we'll probably just tell you “wait and it will come.” If you don’t want to wait and
decide to take a taxi from the airport, it will cost you $40 –
$45 dollars. An Uber can run from about $25 (UberX) to $50 (Select), and prices may vary. Lodging at University TowersAs in previous years at Raleigh, housing, meals, check-in, and the headquarters for IATC is located at University Towers. The facility has undergone a major renovation in recent years, and they are rolling out the red carpet for us to return. There’s a sand volleyball court, swimming pool, outdoor picnic area, and soap, shampoo, and mini-fridges are provided in all the rooms. The cafeteria is housed on the top floor of the building, minimizing travel time between your room and meals. |
